The Adam Project (2022) ☆☆1/2(2.5/4): It is pretty predictable, you know.
Shawn Levy’s Netflix film “The Adam Project”, which was released on this Friday, does not have much surprise for us. Although it is entertaining to some degree thanks to the game efforts from its main cast members, the movie does … Continue reading
Nowhere Special (2020) ☆☆1/2(2.5/4): Before he dies
“Nowhere Special” is a mildly poignant drama film about a decent guy who simply wants his young son to have a good life after he is gone. Although it thankfully avoids sappy sentimentality as earnestly rolling its story from one … Continue reading
Old Henry (2021) ☆☆☆(3/4): An old farmer with the past
“Old Henry” is a familiar but solid western thriller film which turns out to be more enjoyable and interesting than expected. We can clearly see through what it is going to do along with its seemingly plain ordinary hero, and … Continue reading

Falling (2020) ☆☆☆(3/4): An angry bitter old man and his good son
Viggo Mortensen’s directorial debut film “Falling” is a somber and melancholic drama which mainly revolves around a strained relationship between one angry bitter old man and his good son. While often observing how unlikable and unpleasant this old dude really … Continue reading
Concrete Cowboy (2021) ☆☆☆(3/4): Into the world of urban riders
Netflix film “Concrete Cowboy”, which was released on last Friday, brings us into a small African American urban community quite unfamiliar to many of us. While the story itself is your average coming-of-age drama coupled with typical father and son … Continue reading
A Sun (2019) ☆☆☆(3/4): Ordinary People
Taiwanese film “A Sun”, which was selected as Taiwan’s entry for the Best International Feature Film Oscar in this year, is a sprawling family drama with many ups and downs throughout its slow but engaging narrative. Although some of its … Continue reading
Onward (2020) ☆☆☆(3/4): A passable work from Pixar Studios
Pixar Studios Animation film “Onward”, which was finally released yesterday in South Korean theaters after several months of delay caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, did not surprise me much, and that was a surprise for me. Although the film … Continue reading
Come to Daddy (2019) ☆☆☆(3/4): Getting to know his dad again
“Come to Daddy” is a mean but entertaining comedy thriller about one problematic father and son relationship. Because the movie depends much on a number of plot turns, I will describe its story and characters as little as possible without … Continue reading
