I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017) ☆☆☆(3/4): What happens to Ruth
Netflix film “I Don’t Feel at Home This World Anymore” is a little dark comedy which becomes more absurd and violent than expected as bouncing from one point to another along with its two main characters. We are tickled at … Continue reading
Little Boxes (2016) ☆☆1/2(2.5/4): As they are trying to settle in a suburb
“Little Boxes” is a mild comedy about one family trying to settle in their new neighborhood. Although the result is less edgy and satiric than it could be while not showing anything particularly new about its familiar main subjects, we … Continue reading
Free Guy (2021) ☆☆1/2(2.5/4): Enjoyable but derivative
“Free Guy” is an enjoyable but derivative product reminiscent of too many other similar films out there. Its story premise will surely take you back to a number of movies associated with video games, but it does not try to … Continue reading
Limbo (2020) ☆☆☆1/2(3.5/4): Refugees stuck in a remote Scottish island
“Limbo” is a small offbeat film about a group of refugees stuck in a remote Scottish island. While often recognizing their quiet desperation and frustration in a number of achingly melancholic moments, the movie is also often surprisingly funny with … Continue reading
Drunk Bus (2020) ☆☆☆(3/4): His life-changing bodyguard
“Drunk Bus” drives along a very familiar course, but it is more colorful and entertaining than expected. While this is your average coming-of-age comedy drama about a young man getting wiser via a sudden change coming into his drab daily … Continue reading

Anything for Jackson (2020) ☆☆☆(3/4): A Satanist couple in trouble
“Anything for Jackson” is a little horror film which turns out to be more morbid, humorous, and bizarre than expected. While unfolding its devious plot mainly via the viewpoint of an insidious old couple who seems be ready for doing … Continue reading
Action Hero (2021) ☆☆☆(3/4): A little goofy college action comedy
South Korean independent film “Action Hero” is a little goofy mix of action and comedy which turns out to be more likable than I expected. While I often shook up my head as observing all those silly moments generated among … Continue reading

Werewolves Within (2021) ☆☆☆(3/4): A nutty werewolf murder mystery
“Werewolves Within” is a nutty whodunnit flick which often delighted me with its cheerful mix of horror, mystery, and comedy. Within its familiar genre territory clearly influenced by “And Then There Were None” (1945) as well as “The Thing” (1982), … Continue reading
The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020) ☆☆1/2(2.5/4): He has other issues besides that….
Jim Cummings’ second feature film “The Wolf of Snow Hollow” attempts an offbeat mix of horror and comedy, but its two very different elements do not click as well as intended. On one hand, it wants to be your average … Continue reading

Good on Paper (2021) ☆☆1/2 (2.5/4): There is something about this guy…
Netflix film “Good on Paper”, which was released on last Wednesday, is a mildly funny comedy film which could go further with its heroine. She is definitely not someone you can easily like, but it is often amusing to see … Continue reading
